The Royal Western Yacht Club bar and restaurant can surely boast one of the most spectacular places to dine in Plymouth. Uninterrupted views take in the historic Barbican, Mount Batten Peninsula right across the Sound to the Hoe and Drakes Island. It’s a spectacular backdrop against which to enjoy everything from a quick snack at lunch time, right through to a full 3-course evening meal.

Under the guidance of our Head Chef, Mark Holbrook the Club restaurant makes use of fresh, local produce to provide an inviting, seasonal and varied Club menu. There is a menu for those who want a quick snack, with a fresh home-made soup available every day.  In addition there is a Specials Menu which changes weekly. After racing, hungry sailors can tuck into a selection of hearty evening meals and on Sundays, Chef creates a tempting Club carvery with selection of succulent roast meats and fresh local vegetables. Look out for special ‘Bistro Nights’ where the Chef and his team take inspiration from world cuisine to create exciting themed menus. In the past we have had Tapas, Malaysian, Italian Nights and many more!

As the perfect accompaniment to your meal or simply enjoyed by the glass whilst relaxing in our Lounge, the Royal Western boasts a wine list from the most popular wine regions in the world. The Club restaurant also caters for all special occasions whether a formal seated meal, informal buffet or drinks and canapes.
