Start of the Round Britain and Ireland Race

The Competitors had perfect weather for the start of the 14th Round Britain and Ireland Race. Father Sam Philpott fired the starting gun at 1200 and the Competitors followed by many spectator yachts made their way to the Plymouth Breakwater and on to Kinsale, a moderate north easterly wind sped them on their way.

The EDGE arrived in Kinsale this morning at 10.45.10 followed by HISSY FIT at 16.07.45. The Edge and Hissy Fit have the same corrected times (within seconds).
