DESCRIPTION:New for 2025 is the Coastal 25 Miler Race. A committee boat start in Plymouth Sound taking the fleet around a number of coastal marks and finishing on the RWYC line. \nThis new 25 Miler is part of the Ullman Sails Coastal Series (USPRS). \nAs well as the Plymouth Gin random bottle draws for the competitors of the Ullman Sails Coastal Series (USPRS)\, there will be a social and prize giving immediately after racing at the RWYC. \nFor competitors a free berthing stopover for a couple for hours after racing is arranged at QAB marina (subject to space available) details of which can be found in the Notice of Race\, to enable competitors to join in with the post race social and prize giving. \nJoin us for a BBQ to round off the race from 1400. DESCRIPTION:The Round Iceland Challenge was first introduced as an alternative to the OSTAR or TWOSTAR back at the beginning of covid as a viable option for a 2800 + mile race which could be run under covid conditions. \nStarting and finishing in Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and rounding Iceland to starboard\, this has got to be the most demanding route of all Corinthian and arguably of all yacht races around the world.\nNow to be a fierce qualifier for the upcoming World Star replicating similar conditions that will be seen in the World Star 2026.

It meant an end to nearly six years of a war that had cost the lives of millions\, destroyed homes\, families\, and cities\, and had brought huge suffering and privations to the populations of entire countries. \nOn 8 May 2025\, we mark the historic 80th anniversary of VE Day\, with the peoples\, families and communities of our great nation coming together to unite and celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe. \nHere at the RWYC we are holding an afternoon tea to celebrate this momentous occasion.
