SUMMARY:The 25 Miler Race & BBQ
DESCRIPTION:New for 2025 is the Coastal 25 Miler Race. A committee boat start in Plymouth Sound taking the fleet around a number of coastal marks and finishing on the RWYC line. \nThis new 25 Miler is part of the Ullman Sails Coastal Series (USPRS). \nAs well as the Plymouth Gin random bottle draws for the competitors of the Ullman Sails Coastal Series (USPRS)\, there will be a social and prize giving immediately after racing at the RWYC. \nFor competitors a free berthing stopover for a couple for hours after racing is arranged at QAB marina (subject to space available) details of which can be found in the Notice of Race\, to enable competitors to join in with the post race social and prize giving. \nJoin us for a BBQ to round off the race from 1400. SUMMARY:Round Iceland Race 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Round Iceland Challenge was first introduced as an alternative to the OSTAR or TWOSTAR back at the beginning of covid as a viable option for a 2800 + mile race which could be run under covid conditions. \nStarting and finishing in Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and rounding Iceland to starboard\, this has got to be the most demanding route of all Corinthian and arguably of all yacht races around the world.\nNow to be a fierce qualifier for the upcoming World Star replicating similar conditions that will be seen in the World Star 2026.

DESCRIPTION:8 May 1945 – VE (Victory in Europe) Day – was one that remained in the memory of all those who witnessed it. It meant an end to nearly six years of a war that had cost the lives of millions\, destroyed homes\, families\, and cities\, and had brought huge suffering and privations to the populations of entire countries. \nOn 8 May 2025\, we mark the historic 80th anniversary of VE Day\, with the peoples\, families and communities of our great nation coming together to unite and celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe. \nHere at the RWYC we are holding an afternoon tea to celebrate this momentous occasion. DESCRIPTION:This weekend sees the start of our annual Falmouth/Fowey Triangle Race. Wind conditions are looking ideal for Saturday for the long haul to Falmouth where there will be a MEGA dock party!! Details below: \n\n\n\nThe weekend will kick off with a briefing on Friday evening\, 2nd May\, at the club with food available. \n\n\n\nThere is a two course food offering available at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club with free ferry shuttle from Pendennis Marina to the club starting at 6.30pm. For details see below: \n \n\n\n\nFinally at the RWYC on Monday after the race back from Fowey\, a BBQ and drinks await you all to either revel in your glory or drown your sorrows!! Free QAB berthing stopover has been arranged for competitors (see details in NOR & SI’s) culminating with prizegivings for all the 3 legs of the race.

So with just three Wednesday evenings left to complete the series on the 13th\, 20th and 27th of August lets try to make these a record turnout and enjoy the post racing social. \nThe 1884 Twilight series is an all new approach offering everyone the chance to compete with a reduced crew as there are no spinnakers allowed.
