SUMMARY:1884 Twilight Series Start
DESCRIPTION:The 1884 Twilight series is an all new approach offering everyone the chance to compete with a reduced crew as there are no spinnakers allowed. With all boats competing on the same level\, this will create some close racing whilst not having to struggle with finding ‘full’ crews. \nWhether you sail double handed or with friends and family the challenge is the same\, creating great competition whilst at the same time having fun with others who may not otherwise have the opportunity to take part. \nKnown as ‘beer-can racing’ in Sydney Harbour where this all started\, it has been a hugely popular form of mid week racing with boats such as 25ft club cruisers all the way through to TP52’s taking part. It is also a popular feature within the Royal Cape Yacht club in South Africa. Nearer to home\, Dublin Bay Yacht Club introducing this form of racing this season. \nAfter racing\, come and enjoy the atmosphere at the Royal Western Yacht Club where the random daily spot prizes will be presented to those taking part.
