Overview
2026 UPYC Student Match Racing
University teams will compete in a high intensity match racing format using supplied J80 yachts. Racing will run over two days, starting with round robin racing before progressing to knockout semi finals and a final to decide the winner. The event is designed to deliver close, tactical racing with frequent boat changes and rapid turnarounds.
Up to six university teams will compete, with racing held in Plymouth Sound, primarily in Jennycliff Bay, subject to conditions. Briefings will be held each morning, with prize giving on Sunday after racing concludes.
A social dinner for all competitors will be held on Saturday night, providing an opportunity to relax and socialise after racing.
